Just imagine a company who got a written check of $100,000 dollars for an entity that even didn’t existed which is now called Google. Two intelligent students decide to create the biggest search in the world which after trying different models of search algorithm they found a way to serve relevant results to users requests. If you all remember before Google search engine the project was called BackRub but then they decide that it was time to change the name for a cute one.
1997
- Larry and Sergey decide that the BackRub search engine needs a new name. After some brainstorming, they go with Google — a play on the word “googol,” a mathematical term for the number represented by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros. The use of the term reflects their mission to organize a seemingly infinite amount of information on the web.
But as a good company Google didn’t ate all the pie, after making lots of money with “Adwords” they decide to give some advertising money to sponsors who show Google ads in their website or blogs, this is where “Adsense” came to live. I’m proof of receiving checks from Google because of the adsense ads.
