Keep your computer cleaned and up to date

As a reminder to all of you I know how easy is forgetting to keep your computer cleaned and up to date but this is essential and has to be done. Try to keep Windows operating system up to date to protect it from flaws, hackers are everyday looking for ways to enter Windows systems to steal your personal information like passwords, SS#, home address, and all information related to you.

Please follow these simple TIPS to protect yourself and the computer:

  • Keep Windows OS up to date always
  • Make sure the anti virus software is up to date
  • Keep the computer cleaned, don’t smoke or drink beverages near the PC
  • When entering personal information make sure the website you are visiting always starts with https:// which (s) stands for secure connection between your browser and the server
  • Always erase your Internet tracks, for IE go Tools, Internet Options, On the General Tab look for browsing history, click on delete and check all the boxes to erase all your Internet tracks. For Firefox click on Tools and Clear Private Data or Ctrl+Shift+Del
  • If the computer is used by multiple people’s make sure to have a password with your user name.

Doing these practical tips will keep your personal information more secured plus your PC will give you more years of services.
