How to remove Internet Explorer
Written by Joel on January 7, 2009In this tutorial I will show you how to remove Internet explorer completely from Windows XP operating system, also I will also show you to uninstall Internet Explorer from your computer if you upgrade a previous Internet explorer browser let say from IE6 to IE7.
To remove Internet Explorer completely from the system you have to do the following steps:
- Go to Start
- Then Control Panel
- Click on “Add and Remove Programs“
- Click on the left side to select “Add or Remove Windows Components“
- Look for Internet Explorer and uncheck the checkmark
- Click Next and Reboot the system
Now your computer doesn’t have Internet Explorer anymore, before uninstalling Internet Explorer make sure you have installed another alternative browser like Firefox.
Here are the steps to uninstall IE if you upgraded from a previous Internet Explorer version:
- Go to Start, and click on Run
- In the Open Box, type appwiz.cpl and click OK wait until the computer finish compiled the list of programs installed
- Scroll down through the list until you find the version you upgraded let say Internet Explorer 7, once you had found the version of IE you want to delete click “Remove“
- Once is completed restart the computer, now you should have the prevoius version of Internet Explorer
