How to install Microsoft Windows XP Home & Professional

OK, so you want to install the latest Microsoft operating system and you don’t know how? Sooner Windows Vista will be the latest OS. I will show the steps you have to take to complete the installation, so let get on it!

Note: These instructions are for those who doesn’t want to install Windows Vista yet

Here’s What You Need to Use Windows XP Home Edition
• PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

• 1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*

• Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor

• CD-ROM or DVD drive

• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

If your computer meets these requirements then lets proceed with the installation process, you must now decide if you want to upgrade (Install Windows XP over Windows ME) or Clean Install which you have to format the Hard Disk. I don’t believe on Upgrades because most of the time upgrades brings a lot of problems.

Clean installation – Formatting is a better option, so why not format the Hard Drive and start fresh from zero? Ok so you decide to format then! ok let back up your important data! Do you have a CD-RW installed in your computer? if not how can we back up your data? In case you don’t have a CD-RW installed you may choose this other alternative (Online Storage) download your important files to the Net. Don’t worry this is completely secured no one will steel your data Relax!

Let go to the installation process this is what you’re going to do:

Insert Windows XP Home or Pro CD into the CD-Drive
Resart Computer – after restarting you’re computer Bios has to be setup to boot from the CD. Does your computer looks for an Operating System before attempting to look the (C:) drive? In case not I’m not sure what computer brand you have you need to enter the Bios configuration file to change the boot setup. So let say you have a regular Award PC Bios, turn off the computer and then back on while pressing the Delete key to enter the Bios configuration page, Ok you got in the configuration panel locate the boot setup link and set your CD-Drive to boot first, then your (C:) Hard Drive. Ok we are done with the configuration panel save and restart now.
Ok now your computer is loading the CD lets wait to finish loading… it’s done! now you see Windows OS searching and configuring you hard drive let wait again….. Done!
Now lets install Windows XP, you’re at the Welcome screen hit enter to continue, Read the End-User Agreement and press F8 and follow the rest of instructions until setup is complete.
Now that you have Windows XP installed on your computer during the first Windows XP load you will be requested to choose your username and password, after choosing your username and password wait to setup to finish.

And finally Windows XP setup is complete. Congratulations enjoy your new Windows Operating System! Do you like it? Is better than Windows ME which freeze a lot remember? I remember those days I don’t to return to Windows ME never again. I’m preparing for Windows Vista to install it on my computer.
